The Merritt Island project was an opportunity to design a rear sited building which would engage a surrounding busy retail corridor. The building was planned and set behind a successful commercial plaza with excess land behind it. The new building modulates between solid and void to delineate retail spaces. One portion of the building facing the street is two stories while the other is a taller single story. Simple volumes make up the space and provide easy access to the new plans parking and outer building.
